Eric Mauricette of Old Town, just off his strong performance at the MDI Marathon, ran away with this year’s first place at the seven-mile Great Pond Mountain Wildlands Trail Race October 28, with a near record time of 50:48. Meanwhile, the womens’ race was very closely contested from start to finish, with Keri Bassingthwaite of Nottingham, NH (1:08:19) barely edging out Theresa Withee of Rockland (1:08:28).
