Sept. 16, 2012. Jennifer Riefler writes: “Except for a sign and a few blazes, the new BIRDING PATH is now complete!

“The trailhead is off of the Hothole Pond Trail, a short ways after the beaver dam. The HH Pond trail angles to the right and the Birding Path angles slightly left, but mainly straight ahead. The path is 1/2 mile with only gentle elevation change, and takes you down to a great view of the Hot Hole Brook Flowage from a scenic boulder above the flowage (see picture featuring Steward Brian Keegstra and Scott Bennet). The flowage is a major wetland with abundant wildlife and good fishing. I often see fresh moose sign. All we need now is a birder to lead a walk before the end of fall migration!”  (Watch here for updates…)
